Dear Rice Families and Community,
While I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful summer vacation, I can't wait to see you and start our next school year together. Please join me in welcoming our new Associate Principal, Catherine Kratochvil-Rojo. She has extensive experience working as a teacher and administrator both in Mexico and in Chula Vista.
As you know, we are now an official Community School, and you will soon meet our new Community School Coordinator, Samantha Muniz. I am excited to shared that Rice was awarded a mural through ArtReach, and we will start the mural design process with our selected artist and 6th grade students in September.
The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year is Wednesday, July 24. Dismissal is 12:30 for TK and Kinder and 12:45 for 1st - 6th Grade. You will be receiving a detailed email with your child's classroom assignment, line up letter and other first day of school procedures on July 22. Class lists will also be posted on the front door the day on July 22.
All TK and Kindergarten students in the district will have early dismissal from July 24 - August 2. They will attend school from 7:45 - 12:30 pm.
We will continue to use Class Dojo to communicate with families from school. You can see class and school stories and posts, very similar to Facbook, and you can also send messages to your teachers, administrators and other staff. You can also opt in to receive text messages from the district and school by texting YES to 67587.
